This weekend’s Cars and Coffee was held in what felt like the middle of nowhere Kansas. In reality, it was the middle of nowhere, and for a good reason.
Stone Gate Motorplaza is currently a really cool circle drive with some carriage houses, but it will someday be so much more. A private single-car race track is in the planning phases and could be the only small local road course if Heartland Park Topeka doesn’t get to resurfacing theirs.
The location was pretty awesome looking, and it was nice to be in a secluded and car-focused area instead of a shopping center parking lot.
The turnout was great, with plenty of unique and not-so-unique vehicles in the mix. I’m no elitist, I own a bone-stock off the shelf car so anything performance oriented is cool with me.
